Premade colour palettes are a great way to easily add interesting colours to something! generally, they're complimentary colours or have aspects of colour theory included (which is explained well in this video!) a good website to use to generate/find colour palettes is as it has a feature to randomly generate palettes AND has a tab for trending/popular ones (which are usually very pretty!) Hue shifting is a great technique, but can be overdone if the gradient is too harsh (changing colours too quickly) you can use hue shifting in tandem with adjusting tone + saturation, e.g having more saturated lighter colours and more desaturated darker coloursÄesaturated lighter colours + saturated darker colours (top) vs saturated lighter colours + desaturated darker colours (bottom) This is the general guide i follow when hue shifting, but always feel free to experiment on your own!: (remember you can apply the slight tints to your already existing colours, rather than using this as it's own palette, e.g:) Simple gradient without (top) hue shifting, and with (bottom) hue shifting! One of the main pieces of advice i give to people is to use hue shifting in skins! whilst not obligatory, it's a good and simple way to add interest hue shifting is changing the colour of shading / highlights to slightly warmer or colder colours on the colour wheel here's a great video explaining it in more depth! I am open to changing any information on here if it is unhelpful or can be improved I'm sure others can give a more detailed critique than me, but I hope this helped.(this guide is for people who may be struggling, and to avoid people having to copy others/reference pinterest) by no means should this be used as a strict rulebook, but rather to be a tool to help on occasions please always try to avoid copying off of pinterest, many of the skins on there are stolen or posted without the original creator's consent Otherwise, everything else is perfect in my perspective. This includes the pink and blue on the fourth character. I suggest brightening it more and dulling/darkening the rest of the character more, just to make that one specific characteristic bolder. 3 The third photo of your character, just by looking at it I know the red horn is something that is unique to them self as a character. Last thing may not be as important as the other 2, but it's emphasis. Shading the body is really easy to get the hang of, you just have to do the same thing you do to the hair. I know how hard it is to shade the body, but trust me when I say how easy it is after you do it for the first time (because it really is). 2 I also noticed a common thing among your characters, which is the lack of body shading. I understand that outlines are usually used to indicate a light or shine, but it's usually balanced with some darker outlines. 1 As far as I've noticed, your characters all have very light outlines. I do see that you've experimented on highlights and outlines a little. Sugar-coated critique: Those are wonderful cosplays, they're one of the most amazing ones I've seen so far.
